Terms of Use

By accessing biaeedu.org or participating in a program offered by Brookhaven Institute for AI Education, Inc. (“BIAE,” “we,” “us,” “our”), you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully. Specific programs or engagements may also be covered by a separate written agreement, which controls if it conflicts with these terms.

About Our Services

BIAE is a Georgia nonprofit that provides practical AI literacy education — including workshops, cohorts, educator professional development, youth and family programs, curriculum and published materials, train-the-trainer credentialing, and fee-for-service organizational training. The scope, schedule, and any fees for a given program are described in its registration details or a separate service agreement.

Certificates of Completion

BIAE certificates and credentials are the Institute’s own certificates of completion, issued with a verifiable completion record. They recognize that a participant has completed a BIAE program and demonstrated the associated skills.

They are not accredited degrees, licenses, or industry certifications, and they are not affiliated with, authorized by, or a substitute for third-party certifications (such as those from Cisco, AWS, Microsoft, CompTIA, or Google). All product names are trademarks of their respective owners; instruction covers how to use these tools and does not confer any third-party certification.

Registration & Eligibility

  • Provide accurate, current information when registering for a program.
  • A parent or legal guardian must register and consent on behalf of any participant under 18.
  • Some programs have limited capacity; registration does not guarantee a seat until confirmed.

Fees, Donations & Payment

  • Many community programs are offered free of charge; fee-for-service programs are billed as described in the program details or a written proposal.
  • Fees for fee-for-service engagements are due as stated in the applicable invoice or agreement.
  • Charitable donations to BIAE are voluntary and non-refundable except as required by law.
  • Refund terms for any paid program, if offered, are stated at the time of registration.

Participant Conduct

To keep programs safe and productive, you agree to:

  • Treat instructors, staff, and other participants with respect.
  • Use AI tools lawfully and responsibly, and follow the terms of any third-party tools used in a session.
  • Not disrupt sessions, share access improperly, or misuse materials.

We may decline or end participation for conduct that is unlawful, unsafe, or harmful to others.

Intellectual Property

BIAE curriculum, course materials, toolkits, publications, logos, and the content of this website are owned by BIAE (or its licensors) and are provided for your own learning and internal use. You may not resell, republish, or deliver BIAE curriculum as your own without a written license (such as our train-the-trainer credential).

Work products you create during a program — such as your prompt library, website, or content — belong to you. Third-party tools, stock assets, and software used in a program remain subject to their own licenses and terms.

Third-Party Tools & Independence

Programs teach how to use widely available third-party AI and web tools. BIAE is an independent nonprofit and is not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by those tools’ providers. We are not responsible for changes to, availability of, or actions taken by any third-party platform.

No Professional Advice

Our programs and materials are for educational purposes only and are not legal, financial, tax, or professional advice. You are responsible for how you apply what you learn in your own work or organization.

Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Our website, programs, and materials are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, BIAE is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or participation in a program. For any paid program, our total liability will not exceed the fees you paid for that program.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Georgia.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site or our programs after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
